Committee Chair: Patti Moree and Co-Chair Lisa Luce
Committee Update May 13, 2019:
Lisa Luce, co-chair attended the Safenet meeting for me due to the passing of my mother-in-law and setting up funeral arrangements.
This is the first year for the Flower Show, the theme being “Kaleidoscope – Celebrating the World of Color”. Anyone is eligible to submit an arrangement. The categories are Live, Silk, and Dried flower arrangements. Arrangements must be submitted by 5:30 pm Friday, May 31st for judging at the Will Rogers Memorial 1720 W Will Rogers Blvd. Entries will be included in the Silent Auction with all proceeds benefiting Safenet.
Master gardeners will have their sales table at the teaching garden like they did last year. They’ll be selling things that benefit the teaching garden like the raised beds, garden hoes, cards with photos of the garden, and butterfly puddlers.
There are the three gardens plus the Teaching Garden on the tour this year. The dedication of the Cherokee language plant signs will be held at 9:00am. The Jr. Miss Cherokee will be at the garden for the dedication. She will be available to answer questions about the signs and to help with pronunciation of the Cherokee words.
